Your provider's background matters. Here's mine.

Dual board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. Yale and Johns Hopkins trained. Built F10 around the conviction that careful psychiatric work for high-functioning adults deserves the same structure any other complex medical work requires.

I'm a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of F10 Psychiatry — one of the few providers in California with both psychiatric and acute care board certifications.

I trained at Yale University and Johns Hopkins University. Before entering psychiatry, I spent three years as a nurse practitioner in orthopedic surgery and arthroplasty — and before that, served as a firefighter and paramedic on California's Central Coast. I've published peer-reviewed research on sleep disorders, heart failure, and biomarkers through Yale's School of Nursing, and hold a Master Psychopharmacology certification from the Neuroscience Education Institute.

This background changes how I work. Emergency medicine taught me to take careful histories quickly and respect what's actually wrong with someone rather than what's easiest to label. Surgery taught me that powerful tools require careful judgment about when to use them and when not to. Psychiatric training at Yale and Hopkins gave me the framework to apply that same discipline to the medications and conditions I treat now.

Force 10 on the Beaufort scale is the threshold where conditions converge into something unstoppable. That's the standard — for the practice, and for the treatment you receive.

Why Force 10

F10 Psychiatry was founded on a simple conviction: psychiatric work for high-functioning adults deserves the same care and structure that any other complex medical work requires. A careful initial workup. A treatment plan built around the specific patient, not a protocol. Follow-up that actually follows up.

In practice, that means initial evaluations are sixty minutes. Follow-ups are thirty. Medication is one tool among several, used conservatively when it helps. And the work is built around your week — your job, your relationships, your sleep, your sense of what's actually working — not a generic protocol that ignores the specifics.

Outside the clinic, I live with my wife and two young children. Free time goes to kite surfing, and reading philosophy.
